Masks are important to all of us

“If I die, I die.” Such is the attitude of the multitudes of Americans refusing to wear a mask during the covid-19 pandemic.

Independent rhetoric accompanies their declarations to ignore what health and science experts tell us is an important key to slowing the spread of this virus.

If someone without a mask saw me walking down the street, he would presume that I am healthy. I live, however, with 2 underlying, critical conditions, diabetes and heart disease. They make me susceptible to covid-19. No one can see my issues but they make the pandemic a threat to my life. People who say “If I die, I die” fail to un

People who say “If I die, I die” fail to understand that it may not be their death reported in the news. It may be the death of a parent, a child or even a stranger.

We have an obligation to do what may be uncomfortable and may seem forced on us so that we will not have to live with the statement, “I did not wear a mask and my best friend died because of it.” If you don’t care about your own life, try caring about someone else’s. If you die, you die, but I sure hope you don’t.

Here we are again

I live in Lexington 3 school district and want to pass some info along that may be of interest to your readers. I stumbled into a new bond question on the ballot in November asking for approval for money for the 3 schools. 2 years ago this was defeated by about 60% to 40% but here we are again.

There has been no notice to those of us in the district as there was in 2018. I wonder if this was intentional? It could have been publicized in some form. As a reminder to most folks, we were just reassessed and for sure our property taxes will be going up shortly. Please look at the info on the district’s website under the heading of “Bond referendum” and see what you think.
