FORT MILL—Mrs. Maxine Till-Thompson, 81, passed away on Thursday, May 13, 2021 at her home.

A memorial service will be held at 10am on Saturday, May 29, 2021 at Sun City Center United Methodist Church, 1210 Del Webb Blvd W, Sun City, FL 33573 with Rev. Frank McBride officiating.

Born in Aberdeen, WA, Mrs. Till-Thompson was the daughter of the late Albert Dudley Slimp and the late Mildred Brownrigg Cannon. She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Barnes Thompson; her son, Michael Till; and her grandson, Jonathan Till.

Maxine spent her early childhood on a farm in North River, WA, and graduated from Dental Assistant School. While living in Sumter, SC, she worked as an orthodontic dental assistant for Dr. Warren Smith for over 20 years and then retired to Florida. She traveled worldwide with her husband, Howard. She was an avid golfer, playing for many years in many different places with her sons and close friends. She also enjoyed oil painting, doll making, bowling, sewing, cooking, country music, tennis, baseball and Gamecock Football!

Surviving are her two sisters, Marsha Cannon Gray and Marjorie Cannon James and brother, Mark Cannon and two sons, Steven (Wendi) Till and Craig Alan (June) Till; her daughter, Melissa Till (Mark) Whitfield; her daughter-in-law, Linda Till-MacDonald; nine grandchildren, Daniel (Katherine) Till, Angela Till (Matthew) Klosterman, Lauren Till (Jay) Scurry, Justin Till, Ashley Till, Craig Alan Till Jr., Adam Whitfield, Marissa Whitfield and Niclaus Whitfield; 14 great-grandchildren, Dylan Till, Sarah Till, Lydia Till, Andrew Klosterman, Emily Klosterman, James “Tripp” Scurry III, Elizabeth Scurry, Ciarra Till, Jared Till, Chloe Till, Raymond Michael Till, Rylee Till, Tynlee Till and Kingslee Till.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Mrs. Thompson’s name to Remnant Church, 3556 Centre Circle, 101/B, Fort Mill, SC 29715.
