From April to the beginning of June, families are invited to pick berries at McKenzie Farms.
The farm is located at 348 Clover Rd. in Leesville, which allows attendees to go to its U-pick field or purchase pre-picked baskets. They are open from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. On Sundays, they are open from noon until 3 p.m.
The Patch is located at 3911 Augusta Hwy. in Gilbert and offers pre-picked baskets of strawberries. They are open Tuesday, Friday and Saturday from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m.
U-Pick costs $20 per gallon bucket and pre-picked costs $22 per gallon bucket.
“Nothing beats the taste of locally grown strawberry picked straight from the field,” farmer Luke McKenzie said. “We’re excited to welcome families to our farm to enjoy the freshest berries, create lasting memories, and experience a little piece of farm life. Whether you are looking for pre-picked baskets or a u-pick experience, we have the tastiest berries around.”
