More about ‘sensational’ headlines

I found the Chronicle headline “Vacccines failing” very disappointing.

I am not a medical professional but from all that I’ve read, heard and seen on news reports, this vaccine is doing exactly what vaccines are supposed to do.

If you were vaccinated and contracted a breakthrough case, yours is typically milder and you won’t need to be hospitalized.

For the Chronicle to print such a headline with a story that, in my opinion, is not accurate is irresponsible. At a time when we are urged to get the vaccine to prevent the spread, this only adds to concerns for those who already have doubts and hesitated thereby fueling the recent uptick in cases.

Editor’s note: We appreciate readers’ letters but our story was based on the latest scientific findings. Leading Israeli scientists discovered Pfizer vaccine had only 39% effectiveness in some cases – not the 97% earlier touted. We may have been misled.

We, too, had Pfizer vaccinations and are concerned that we may not be as well protected as scientists told us we would be.

Washington knuckleheads

The Chinese Communist Party appears to be able to control their and our economic system.

Stocks in companies based in China which no longer have access to banks and lenders is a good business model for Chinese elites.

That perhaps is not all that different than US Presidents buying multi-million dollar mansions while national debt load increases for each of us and the trillion dollar “infrastructure bills” being imposed upon taxpayers.

I hear people mutter about how the Fed is selling $120 billion of bonds a day to keep Uncle Joe and the gang solvent.

Japan printed their way out of a malaise 20 years ago, leaving their debt service dragging their economy to a near stop. Our DC knuckleheads can’t find a debt they don’t love.
