In the Town of Lexington, Caughman-Harman Funeral Home held a Memorial Day Service. On the program were Jackie Day Frye with prelude music, Todd Caughman giving a welcome and EMCEE FOR THE day, Gary Baker. Constance Flemming led the group with the National Anthem as well as military service songs. The Rev. Gerald Wallace delivered the invocation.

Following the POW/MIA ceremony by Lt. Col. Roger Rucker, Hamp Caughman Jr. introduced the furst speaker, Command Sgt. Major (Ret.) Martin R. Wells. The program concluded with the playing of Taps by American Legion Post 7 Commander David Griffith and a release of red, white and blue balloons.

Many head to the beach or lake or even shop the sales on this holiday, but you are asked to pause and remember the real reason for this holiday.
