Airport and Brookland-Cayce High students have qualified as a semifinalists for National Merit Scholarships.

This prestigious recognition goes to fewer & WEST COLUM than 1% of US high school seniors.

Brookland-Cayce’s Joseph Buchmaier and Airport’s Brycen Redmond will continue in the competition for some 7,600 scholarships worth more than $30 million.

More than 1.5 million juniors in about 21,000 high schools took the qualifying test, an initial screening. Roughly 16,000 were selected as semifinalists.
