Around pelion

The Pelion Police Department conducted its first National Night Out August 6 in the IGA parking lot. There were free hotdogs, chips, popcorn, and drinks, along with music provided by Chief Mike Crider. Officers from the Pelion Police Department and the Lexington county Sheriff’s Department were in attendance along with the folks from the Pelion branch Library and the Girl Scouts.

Members of the public enjoyed dancing with Pelion PD’s new School Resource Officer Odell Glenn. The officers of the PPD would like to thank all who attended and helped make the night a success!

Pelion High School football starts August 23 with Pelion playing at Wagener. Girls varsity tennis will play White Knoll August 27 at 4:30 pm.

Pelion Library will

host technology training August 22 at 10:30 am. Registration is required.

Yarn Art will be August 24 at 10 am for ages 13 and up.

Beginner and advanced crafters are invited to share ideas and learn new skills. North of 50 meets August 27 at 11:15 am for ages 60 and up.
