Nephron Pharmaceuticals Corporation and CEO Lou Kennedy are continuing support of Lexington County School District 1 students.

Kennedy recently donated $9,000 to the Lexington 1 Educational Foundation to cover course fees for students enrolled in the district’s Pharmacology program.

The donation pays the $300-per-student fee for 30 students enrolled in Pharmacology for Medical Careers.

The district offers the course at Lexington Technology Center and White Knoll High School.

“We could not be more excited to partner once again with Lexington One,” Kennedy said. “These students deserve to be equipped with the very best educational resources available because they represent South Carolina’s – and our company’s –future workforce.”

The most-recent donation marks the 3rd time that Nephron Pharmaceuticals has supported the pharmacology program in an effort to open the class to all students in Lexington District 1, regardless of cost.

In recent years, the company donated a laminar flow hood and related supplies to the Lexington Technology Center.

Nephron staff also visited the pharmacology class, sharing their industry knowledge with students.
