Around Red Bank

The SAFE Federal Credit Union at the corner of Platt Springs Road and Brevard Parkway opened for business last week. Nice to have another banking option here. Also, now open on Saturday and Sunday, is the Treasure Island indoor flea market at 1156 South Lake Drive (former Optimize/Empire Gymnastics). Last weekend looked busy for their vendors, if the number of cars in the parking lot was any indication of local interest. In addition to the market during the day, they are also hosting bingo in the evenings.

Red Bank Baptist will hold a Valentine’s dinner February 15, 5-7 pm. I’m telling you this now because they are asking for people to sign up to attend by February 9 as they’re catering the event and need to know how many they’ll be feeding. Contact the church at 359-2681. The cost is $5 at the door the night of the dinner.

If you are interested in playing lacrosse at the middle school level this season, the White Knoll High School Boys Lacrosse team will hold additional tryouts for the B Team (7th and 8th graders from White Knoll and Carolina Springs Middle). This is for any students who did not participate in preseason or who were in other winter sports. Tryouts are at Carolina Springs, 4-6 pm, February 12 and 17. Contact coach Carter for more info at dcarter@lexington1.net .

Happy birthday to Mike Hutchins, Pearle Etheridge, Terry Hook, Maggie Bedenbaugh, Glenda Snelgrove, Teresa Lown, Chelsey Faircloth, Michelle Clamp, Megan Whittle, Jacob Clamp, Koby Sherman, Scott Lorick, Ashley Jordan, Julie Jumper, Cynthia Swinson, Mac McMakin, Teresa Boat-wright, and Lyle Moore.
