New turn lane opens to ease Lexington traffic

Posted

Lexington drivers may now have an easier time getting into town.

Commuters can now turn right at the stoplight off exit 61 on I-20 westbound.

The new turn lane should relieve congestion caused by traffic turning left onto Ginny Lane across from Corley Mill Road.

The current traffic pattern had a merging lane which put drivers in the far-right lane heading toward Corley Mill. Drivers would have to cross over 3 lanes to get into the left turning lane for Ginny Ln.

Now drivers making the right turn from the I-20 ramp on Sunset Blvd. can immediately enter the left turn lane for Ginny Lane.

Drivers continuing on Sunset Blvd. into town should take the ramp right lane.
