Here’s bad news for parents and older Lexington County residents.
A new respiratory virus is spreading in the state, the Centers for Disease Control reported this week.
Although it’s like a cold for most healthy adults, it can be deadly for babies, young children, and anyone with poor immunity.
Respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) has symptoms similar to covid-19: dry cough, sore throat, and a headache.
Severe cases, have fever and difficulty breathing.
If you or your loved ones are susceptible, the CDC advises wearing a mask.
If you have symptoms of covid-19 but test negative, the CDC recommends getting tested for RSV.
Check with your doctor or pharmacist.
