Woman struck, killed on North Lake Dr.

A Lexington woman died after being struck by a motor vehicle on North Lake Drive (SC 6) near Andrew Corley Road.

Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher identified the pedestrian who died Nov. 20 in the 1500 block of North Lake Drive as Terry B. Aughtry, 60, of Lexington.

Fisher said Aughtry was walking in the road when she was struck by a motor vehicle. Aughtry was transported to an area hospital where she was pronounced dead a short time later due to her injuries.

The driver of the vehicle, who was not injured, stopped at the scene to render aid.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating.

Lexington woman dies in car crash

A Lexington woman died Nov. 21 when another vehicle struck her’s near Lexington.

Donna L. Lesperance, 66, was pronounced dead at the scene due to her injuries, according to Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher.

The collision occurred at the intersection of Fox Branch, Smith Pond and Rawl Roads near Lexington at approximately 12:30 pm last Thursday.

Lesperance had been traveling on Fox Branch Road and was crossing Smith Pond Road onto Rawl Road when another vehicle struck the side of hers. She was wearing a seat belt when the collision occurred.

The driver and passenger of the other vehicle were transported to an area hospital with minor injuries.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating the incident.

Man pleads guilty to producing child pornography

A Barnwell County man was sentenced in Lexington County to 20 years for producing child pornography.

Joshua Isiah Worthy waived venue from Barn-well to Lexington County and pleaded guilty Nov. 19 to 1 count of sexual exploitation of a minor, 1st degree before the Honorable Frank R. Addy.

Attorney General Wilson said Worthy was already on probation for abusing a young girl and recording it when he was arrested.

In December 2018, the Batesburg-Leesville Police Department received a call about a cell phone containing child pornography that was left in a motel room in Leesville.

Police found 2 videos and 4 photos of Worthy sexually abusing a young girl.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant Attorney General David Collier.
