Do you have a favorite charity?

You might nominate it for an Angel award.

Each year, SC Secretary of State Mark Hammond seeks nominations of charities.

He considers charities that use at least 80% of donations for services, have been in existence at least 3 years, use volunteer assistance and do not rely heavily on grants.

Nominations may be sent to the Secretary of State’s Office, Division of Public Charities, 1205 Pendleton Street, Suite 525, Columbia, SC 29201.

Nominations also may be sent to charities@sos.sc.gov .

Nomination should include the name of the charity, its location and contact information, and why it should be honored as an Angel. Deadline is Sept. 30, 2018.
