Northside Christian Academy’s 1st ever track team had 22 athletes earn invitations to the Class 2A Region 2 meet.
The Crusaders will have 4 of those athletes compete at the SCISA State Meet on May 1 at Porter-Gaud in Charleston.
Ella Jeffrey and Kaitlynn Ford earned an invite in 2 events. Jeffrey won the 100 meter dash with a qualifying time of 13.58 and was 5th in the 3200 meters with a qualifying time of 13:41.29.
Ford earned 2 state meet invites by finishing 2nd in the 100 Meter hurdles with a time of 18.76 and 3rd in the 400 meter hurdles with a time of 1:16.27.
Sam Burks qualified for 5 events (100, 200, 400 long jump and high jump, but could only compete in a maximum of 4. Burks cleared 5 feet 6 inches in the high jump which netted 2nd place and a state meet invitation.
Elizabeth Everett had previously earned a state meet invite with a throw of 80 feet, 10 inches earlier this season. Her throw of 76 feet, 3 inches at the region meet was good enough for 2nd place.
