Last week was a big one around Lexington County as the boys and girls basketball regular season concluded.
Many teams still had a lot to play for with playoff positioning on the line. A few bettered their spot in the standings thanks to big performances from key players and took positive momentum into the playoffs.

Dutch Fork’s Bryson Taylor had a strong week and helped the Silver Foxes win their first region championship since 2022.
The Silver Foxes went 3-0 in games last week, including two against River Bluff. The Gators began the week No. 1 in the standings as the lone remaining unbeaten team. Taylor led Dutch Fork with 17 points and six assists in a 63-50 win.
A close win against Irmo set up a tie-breaker game against the Gators at the end of last week. Against the Yellow Jackets, Taylor led the team in scoring with 22 points. Dutch Fork dominated River Bluff in the final game, winning 55-27. Taylor had 12 points.
Taylor’s play has elevated Dutch Fork all season. He led the team in scoring this year and helped guide Dutch Fork to the region championship. The team will now try and make a push for the state championship as the postseason begins.
Northside Christian advanced past the first round of the SCHSL playoffs, boosted by a strong outing from Campbell Childers.
Childers scored 23 points in a win over Laurence Manning Academy. She also added four rebounds and five assists.
The eighth-grader has been a crucial piece of the Northside team. She averaged 11 points, four assists and three steals this season as the Crusaders went 22-2.
Childers’ 23 points against Laurence Manning set a new season-high. She has scored at least 10 points in 12 games this season.
