AROUND BATESBURGLEESVILLE

The B-L Panther Band has been working hard to prepare for the 2018 competition season, which begins Sept. 22 when the group competes in the White Knoll Silver Showcase.

The band’s show is called “ArtWorks,” and through song and intricate choreography, band members demonstrate the process that an artist goes through to create a piece of artwork. The artist first sketches lines and curves, then adds balance and texture. The final step is to add color and present the artistic masterpiece. The original music that’s being performed this year was composed by Randall Standridge and the Visual Design is by Tom Padgett.

School District Three

Board of Trustees is pursuing a bond referendum in the November 2018 general election. The school district to borrow up to $90 million to fund renovations at B-L Primary School and to build a new B-L High School.

Batesburg-Leesville will hold a special election November 27 to fill the vacant seats for Districts 1 and 6. You need to vote.
