Posted

Mark the date on your calendar: On Monday, Sept. 21 at 6 p.m., there will be a public hearing on the 10-year comprehensive plan for the town of Pelion. This is the plan that guides Pelion’s future for the next 10 years. Once adopted, it can only be changed by addendums and votes. Don’t miss your chance to have a say in how the town grows. This plan shapes population, natural resources, cultural resources, economic development, housing, transportation, community facilities, resiliency, priority investment and land use. The event will be held at the Pelion Performing Arts Center located at 981 Mulberry St. Come, listen and share by speaking up.

The town of Pelion will host its annual Trunk-or-Treat on Oct. 31 from 5-9 p.m. The event will be held on Railroad Avenue (along the walking trail). Email townhall@pelion.sc.gov to obtain an application for participation or a food vendor application.

At the last Ruritan meeting, the club scheduled the day of Sept. 26 to clean up the Oaklawn Cemetery. Everyone is urged to participate in this event. Bring rakes, gloves and pruners.

I recently enjoyed a night out with two of my nieces and one great-niece as we had a wonderful meal at Halls and then saw an Elvis impersonator at the Koger Center.
