Pelion recyling event Saturday

Lexington County residents can recycle electronics and household hazardous waste, shred paper documents and donate household goods this Saturday.

The event is from 9 am until 1 pm at Forts Pond Elementary School, 7350 Fish Hatchery Rd, Pelion. Donated items will go to Goodwill Industries.

Please recycle:

• Electronics. Limit 8 items per household. Electronics are always accepted at Lexington County’s Edmund Landfill. Refrigerators will not be accepted.

• Household Hazardous Waste. No Asbestos, explosives or medical items.

• Paper Shredding. Limit 5 boxes/bags per household. Shredding will be performed on site.

E-Waste, HHW and paper only accepted from Lexington County households.

No commercial/business drop-offs will be accepted.

By SC law, Electronic Waste (computers/monitors, printers, and TVs) must be recycled and may not be placed in the garbage.
