FPES will host a visit from the Leader in Me Symposium February 28. This event is a wonderful opportunity to showcase the the goals for academics, social, and leadership skills. FPES is happy to have been chosen by the Franklin Covey Leader In Me organization. The visit will include teachers, principals, and staff from other schools across the country participating at the Symposium in Columbia.

Kindergarten students celebrated the 100th day of school February 6 by wearing some very creative outfits. From 100 bandaids, 100 stickers, 100 dots, the creativity of the students/families was beautifully displayed and all students and staff had a wonderful time celebrating with fun, academic activities.

Tara Dixon, account manager for the American Red Cross came to FPES Feb. 6 to recognize Blood Donor recruiters. The students who recruited parents, caregivers, etc.to donate to the Blood Drive received a medal and a certificate from the American Red Cross. The students were excited to be recognized for their involvement in helping save lives. FPES had 26 student recruiters.

The Pelion library hosts Technology Training on February 27 at 10:30 am for ages 18 and up. Registration is required. Preschool Storytime will be February 27 at 11 am for ages 2-5. All ages are invited for Yarn Art February 23 at 10 am. Beginner and advanced crafters are invited to share ideas.

A recipe swap will be held February 21 at 6 pm for ages 18 and up. This event features chocolate. Bring your favorite chocolate recipe and the staff will copy your recipes and learn new ways to use chocolate. Everyone gets to go home with a new addition to their recipe collection.

North of 50 meets February 26 at 11:15 am for ages 60 and up. This is National Tell a Fairy Tale Day. Participants will explore fairy tales in music, literature, and games. Tween Extreme meets February 28 at 6 pm for grades 4-7. Tweens will discover how to make stylish, no-sew zipper pouches for pencils, tablets, makeup, wallets, and more using duct tape.

JV/V girls soccer scrimmage vs Barn-well will be February 22 at 7 pm. Varsity wrestling State Tournament will be held at Anderson Civic Center at 3:30 pm February

22. JV baseball tourney will be February 22 at Batesburg-Leesville February 23 at 6 pm.

Pelion Senior Center members will travel to Batesburg Leesville at 9:30 February 22 for Mardi-Gras. The Center at Pelion will be closed that day.
