The Friday night lights haven’t turned on quite yet but the official start of the football season is upon us.
Starting Friday, July 29, high school football programs across the state of South Carolina officially began their fall practices in preparation for the upcoming season.
Practices will run until week zero on Friday, Aug. 18. During that opening week, all schools in the county will be in action with the exception of Gilbert.
The Chronicle will have all of the roster and schedule updates as well as complete breakdowns of every Lexington County team in the upcoming football preview. Voting for the cover athlete of this year’s edition is still live and will be until 11:59 p.m. on the night of Sunday, August 6.
