Quarantine brought our family together

Quarantine has made life different, but what’s its impact on our family’s future.

Life was good. I wanted it to stay the same.

But it’s not the same. No more soccer, swim, “normal” school or uninterrupted workdays.

Distance learning with 3 elementary kids and a fulltime job was challenging. But after the initial shock, I experienced a sense of relief. I had no outside obligations. I had my family to myself and no pressure to run them around.

We had enjoyed the activities. But this season has me questioning if other options may suit us better. Since quarantine we work together on our farm. We cook out, read, and talk together more.

This has been an opportunity to reflect on how to design our future and prioritize values. We haven’t figured out all the answers but are grateful for all the great options here in South Carolina.
