The Rainbow Drive bridge over I-26 in West Columbia is now open.
Crews were still removing signs and barrels at 2 pm Wednesday, but the overpass was open to vehicle traffic, according to SCDOT.
Traffic will be limited on Rainbow Drive.
Wilton Road which feeds into Rainbow Drive is still closed due to damage from the 2015 flood.
The opening was a only week late.
SCDOT resident construction engineer Robert Power said 2 weeks ago that the road would open Nov. 7. Weather and other factors caused construction delays.
Traffic that would normally use the Rainbow Drive bridge was being detoured to Platt Springs Road and S-32-71.
The bridge was replaced due to being structurally deficient.
Rainbow Drive was closed between Eddine Drive and Beverly Drive on the east side of I-26 and Dawn Drive on the west side of I-26, according to SCDOT.
