Northside Baptist Church will once again hold its basketball league at their gym for 2nd through 5th graders.

Registration has started and runs through Saturday. Teams will practice at the Northside Baptist Church gymnasium at 4347 Sunset Boulevard in Lexington beginning Jan. 4 for 1 hour once a week. Games will be played on Saturdays, beginning Jan. 16 through Feb. 20.

Pastor David Ford heads up the youth sports programs at Northside Baptist Church that other places provide playing sports in a safe environment. He said few of them include introducing kids to a relationship with Jesus.

In Ford’s words, in a world that is increasingly hostile to faith, the need has never been greater to let our light shine.

Northside Baptist offers a unique opportunity for kids to participate in a sport and receive spiritual guidance as well. They only enlist church attending coaches to lead children and families to a relationship with Jesus.
