River Bluff High School placed first runner-up in the We the People competition Dec. 7.
The competition is a simulated congressional hearing in which students “testify” before a panel of judges. It is sponsored by the SC Bar Law Related Education Division.
Wando High School won first place.
“This program allows students to learn more about the Constitution in a fun and competitive way,” said LRE Director Cynthia Cothran.
“It’s also a way to understand critical issues regarding American government in today’s society.”
Participating students from River Bluff were Cooper Anderson, Olivia Bradford, Ben Brown, Caylee Burgess, Jordyn Carroll, Harrison Carter, Hyunsoo Choi, Jack Collins, Bryce Dickenson, Lauren Garrison, Destiny Guilard, Dillon Lon-con, Tejas Nidigattu, Danny O’Hara, Megha Patel, Nick Petta, Sage Singh, Jessica Suggs, Beau Sumerau, Wren Thomson, Andrea Santiago Toledo, Philip Votion, Woods Wooten and Alex Zdunczyk.
