Riverbanks Zoo has announced new and upcoming events that local residents can look forward to.
Every Friday and Saturday in January and February, Richland and Lexington County residents can enter for free by showing proof of residency, such as an ID, property tax statement or vehicle identification, at any entrance window.
A sweetgrass basket weaving class will take place on Saturday, Feb. 1, at the Waterfall Junction Learning Center located in Riverbanks Botanical Gardens and will be led by experienced weaver Mary Graham-Grant. Attendees will get the chance to make their own sweetgrass basket and learn about the Gullah tradition. The cost is $70 for members and $85 for non-members.
Member’s Night Out will take place on April 11 where members can enjoy the zoo before sunset and take advantage of exclusive deals and activities. The annual Wine Tasting at Riverbanks Botanical Gardens will take place on April 25. The yearly Riverbanks Run to benefit wildlife conservation will occur on May 17.

"As we step into 2025, we're buzzing with excitement about new animal arrivals and another year of creating unforgettable experiences.”
