Lexington County Fire Services hosted 2 separate Roadway Dedication ceremonies to honor two fallen firefighters – Fire Engineer Jeffrey V. Chavis and Fire Engineer Paul Quattlebaum Jr.

Fire Chief Mark Davis unveiled both roadway dedications on Friday, May 21. The 1st roadway dedication was held at 11 am at 2851 Two Notch Road, Lexington to honor Jeffrey Chavis.

Chavis died after sustaining serious injuries while responding to a house fire on Lake Murray in June 2001.

The 2nd roadway dedication was held at 2 pm at 5310 Fairview Road, Leesville to honor Paul Quattlebaum Jr.

Quattlebaum Jr. died while responding to a motor vehicle collision in October 2019.

The roadway dedications were held in each firefighter’s respective hometowns.
