Runoff in B-L race

A Batesburg-Leesville Town Council runoff election had voters back at the polls Tuesday.
Emily Long and Susan Whittle contended for the open District 6 seat in the Dec. 4 special election.
Neither candidate had received the required majority vote of 50.1%.
Low voter turnout could have been to blame. Less than 15% of registered voters turned up for the special election.
The runoff election was Dec. 11. Visit www.lexingtonchronicle.com for the results. Polls closed after press time Tuesday.
