SCDOT plans to make some changes to Old Cherokee Road.

The Department of Transportation has proposed intersection improvements to Old Cherokee at Pilgrim Church Rd. and Catawba Trail in Lexington.

The proposed project consists of realigning Pilgrim Church Road and Catawba Trail creating a traditional 4-legged intersection, constructing left and right turn lanes, and installing a traffic signal.

They will hold a public information meeting Thursday, Aug. 29 regarding the proposed changes.

Citizens can drop in at New Providence Elementary School at 1118 Old Cherokee Rd. from 5-7 pm to provide written comments. Verbal comments will not be taken during the meeting.
