20 Lexington County public schools this week reported covid-19 cases.

That is 12 more than were reported last week.

Exactly how many cases were found in each school has not been revealed.

Health and school officials say that exact numbers would invade privacy.

Lexington Elementary is listed on the Department of Health and Environmental Control website as having less than 5 faculty infected but no students.

“I don’t understand why they are trying to cover this up so badly,” she said. “A big cover up is going on.”

District 1 spokesperson Mary Beth Hill said, “It changes from day to day. You can see it on our Stronger Together page at https://www.lexdistrict1. com/stronger-together .”

State Rep. Chip Huggins of Lexington County has joined the Chronicle in appealing to Gov. Henry McMaster for disclosure to the public.
