Lexington-Richland School District 5’s mean composite score on the ACT ranks among the highest in the state according to data recently released by the SC Department of Education. These scores reflect graduating seniors from 2019.

Test results for the latest ACT assessment showed District 5 students had a composite score of 21.0, the 2nd highest composite score of traditional school districts in SC, exceeding the state average of 18.6 as well as the national average of 20.7.

“School District 5 places a high priority on classroom instruction, and we are proud of these results for our students and our teachers,” said Chief Instructional Officer Michael Guliano. “As always, we will continue to review these results along with others to refine and improve.”

The ACT exam is a national college admissions examination that consists of subject area tests in English, mathematics, reading and science. The test includes multiple choice questions with a highest possible score of 36.

The ACT report represents 33,834 South Carolina public school students who took the ACT test.
