Forts Pond Elementary will host All Pro Dads September 27 at 7 a.. All families new to Forts Pond Elementary are invited to an orientation September 27 at 8 am.

Pelion High school

competitive cheer will be held September 28 at Ir-mo High School in the Okra Strut Invitational. Tomahawk Cheer Classic will be held October 8 at Gilbert High School.

Pelion Panthers will play Columbia September 27 at 7:30 pm and this will be the Homecoming game. Panthers will meet at Edisto October 11 at 7:30 pm.

Pelion High Homecoming Pep Rally will be held September 27 at 11:05 am. The Sadie Hawkins Dance will be held October 8 at 7 pm.

Varsity volleyball will meet at King Academy September 30 at 5 pm. JV/V volleyball meets at Batesburg-Leesville October 2 at 5 pm. Cross Country meets at Lugoff-Elgin Invitational October 2 at 5:30 pm. Girls varsity tennis plays Gilbert High October 3 at 4:15 pm. JV/V volleyball plays Edisto October 3 at 5 pm.

Pelion Library will

hold Yarn Art September 28 at 10 am for all ages. Beginner and advanced crafters are invited to share ideas and learn new skills. Knitting, crochet and macramé artists are urged to attend. Tween Extreme meets October 1 at 3:30 pm with 3D Hologram fun. Make a very simple pyramid to watch 3D hologram videos using your smartphone or tablet. All that is needed are basic school supplies, recycled packaging plastic and a few minutes of time. This event is for grades 4-7. Technology training will be October 2 at 10:30 am for ages 18 and up. Registration is required. Preschool story time will be October 2 at 11 am for ages 1-5 years.

After looking at my yard the past few days, I think fall is fast arriving – leaves everywhere! Fall is my favorite time of year, even though I don’t relish the thought of harvesting all those leaves.
