Around gilbert & summit

We are here to celebrate our volunteers and thank you for volunteering for the Meals on Wheels program and at our Gilbert-Summit Senior Center.” Donna Neel, director of the Gilbert-Summit Senior Center, opened the volunteer banquet with this special thank you.

“We want to thank you from the bottom of our hearts.” Neel told the volunteers whatever they do as volunteers makes the GSSC great. “Teamwork makes the Dream-work and, no matter if you volunteer for an hour or more, it is appreciated by our GSSC staff.” Neel said they also appreciated hearing the volunteers say they enjoyed helping at the center or delivering the meals to the recipients in the community.

Each volunteer at the banquet received a certificate and a gift from the GSSC. Dianne Moser received the Volunteer of the Year award for her service to the Meals on Wheels program in the Gilbert-Summit community. Mary Coleman received the Volunteer of the Year award for her volunteer service.

Congratulations to these volunteers who received a certificate of thanks for delivering Meals on Wheels or as a volunteer at the GSSC: Hazel Clarke, Jack Clarke, Elaine Quick, Josphine Deflorio, Sharon Boice, Mardon Collins, Debora Fields, Evelyn Gantt, Stella Hendrick, Doris Hackley, Wayne Jensen, Martha Jones, Jackie Jensen, Connie Jordan, Edna Keenan, Wayne Keenan, Gerald Long, Grace Nowaczyk, Clotilda Smith, Beverly Swinson, Jean Sickler, and Mary Coleman.
