Should state sell Santee Cooper?

Posted

Mid-Carolina Electric members and other Chronicle readers will have a chance to discuss selling Santee Cooper.

The taxpayer-owned utility supplies much of the power to Mid-Carolina in Lexington County.

The SC Small Business Chamber of Commerce and the Lexington County Chronicle will sponsor a town hall discussion on the pros and cons of a possible sale of Santee Cooper.

The state’s financially-troubled utility owes more than $8 billion in nuclear fiasco and other debt.

The town hall will be in Lexington Wednesday, May 1, 5:30-7 pm at the Lexington County Main Library, 5440 Augusta Rd.

The meeting is not library sponsored, but space has been made available for it as a free public event.
