Lexington and Chapin residents have some of the highest incomes in the state.

This is based on the latest Census Bureau data for cities with a population of 60,000 or more.

UnitedStatesZipCodes.org reported that median household income in Chap-in is $82,089 and in Lexington $78,899.

The highest incomes were in Sullivans Island, Fort Mill and Charleston averaging $103,822 to $120,850.

The lowest incomes were in Allendale, Anderson and Denmark from $20,896 to $24,424.
