Friday, July 3

Batesburg-Leesville July 3rd Celebration
The Batesburg-Leesville July 3rd Celebration is on Friday, July 3, from 4 to 9 p.m., at Leesville College Park, located at 423 College St. “This event commemorates 150 years of the town’s establishment and 250 years of American independence,” according to the event listing. More details on the event can be found on the town’s Facebook page.

250th Independence Day Celebration in Lexington
Lexington’s Icehouse Amphitheater in downtown will host a 250th Independence Day celebration featuring the Lexington Community Band and more the day before the Fourth of July. Food, drinks, games and more will be available starting at 6 p.m. The band will perform at 7 p.m. and the fireworks will begin at 9:20 p.m.

Lexington County Blowfish play at home
The Lexington County Blowfish, a summer collegiate baseball team, will play at home at the Lexington County Baseball Stadium at 474 Ball Park Rd. in Lexington this week. Friday is against Macon Bacon. Learn more and buy tickets at goblowfishbaseball.com.

Saturday, July 4

Lexington County Peach Festival
The Lexington County Peach Festival is on July 4 at Gilbert Community Park in Gilbert. This is an all-day event featuring a parade, live music, fireworks and more. The Peach Parade is at 9:30 a.m.; it begins at Hampton Street, goes down Main Street then ends near Gilbert Middle School. Roads will close at 9 a.m. in preparation, and the parade is expected to last about an hour. Live music will be played from noon until 9 p.m. the firework finale will begin at 9:15 p.m. The fireworks are expected to be visible from the open fields at Gilbert Community Park, Gilbert Middle School and Gilbert Elementary School. The Lexington County Peach Festival is free to attend.

Lake Murray’s Independence Day Celebration 2026
The best place to view fireworks from is a boat, according to Capital City/Lake Murray Country, the host of Lake Murray’s Independence Day Celebration on July 4. The event will feature two firework shows from 9:30 to 10 p.m., one from Spence Island and one from Dreher Island on Lake Murray. “Spectators are encouraged to experience the fireworks by boat for the full Lake Murray experience, but several land-based viewing opportunities will also be available,” according to the event listing. Land spots to watch from include Dreher Island State Park, Pine Island State Park and Lake Murray Public Park on the Irmo or Lexington sides. You can book parking in advance. “The fireworks display will once again be synchronized to a patriotic concert airing live on 93.1 The Lake through Midlands Media Group,” according to the event listing. “Attendees are encouraged to listen through a traditional FM radio, as online streaming may experience delays that could impact synchronization with the fireworks show.”

Thursday, July 2

First Thursday on Main
On Thursday at 6 p.m. in downtown Columbia, First Thursday on Main will showcase Columbia's arts and culture scene. "On the first Thursday of each month, we celebrate the thriving arts and culture scene of downtown Columbia with musical acts, artist displays and performances," according to the event website. "Main Street merchants and businesses keep their doors open late, offering menu and drink specials, special events, and more. From the 1200 block all the way to the 1700 block, you’ll find a lively mix of art, music, food and drinks. ... Since 2009, thousands of people have joined in the festivities of First Thursday on Main." The Columbia Museum of Art, located at 1515 Main St., also celebrates with free admission and extended hours from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Trivia
On Thursday at Bierkeller Columbia (600 Canalside, Suite 1009) will be the Palmetto Trivia event. This is a recurring event beginning at 7 p.m. There will be prizes for top winners. This is a free event.

Some nights have a different theme. Finlay Fridays
On Friday from 6 to 9 p.m. at Finlay Park, located at 896 Blanding St. in Columbia, is Finlay Friday. “The City of Columbia’s Finlay Park presents Finlay Fridays, a live outdoor concert series happening every Friday evening from February 20 through October 30, 2026,” according to the Capital City Lake Murray event listing. “Open to the public, the series brings live music, food, and drinks to the heart of downtown Columbia — the perfect way to kick off the weekend. Performances take place from 6:00 to 9:00 PM and feature a variety of local and regional artists throughout the season.” July 3 will feature Daddy’s Beemer.
