FRIDAY, AUG. 29

Once Upon A Mattress (play)
The Chapin Theatre Company (830 Columbia Ave.) presents “Once Upon A Mattress.” This musical comedy is “The Princess and the Pea.” It tells the story of Prince Dauntless and Princess Winnifred. Winnifred’s unconventional nature and disregard for the Queen’s rules lead to a hilarious series of events, including the famous “twenty mattresses” test. Showtime is 7:30 p.m. and tickets are $25 in advance, $30 at the door and $20 for ages 18 and under. Visit harbisontheatre.org for more information.

Ty Potter Duo (concert)

The Dirt Road Disciples (concert)
Lexington’s own raw rockers The Dirt Road Disciples perform at BOHO Pizza & Brew (2514 Augusta Hwy.). The band performs a mix of old-school rock covers and modern hits on what the BOHO is calling a “pig-pickin’, margarita-sippin’ kind of night.” This show starts at 7 p.m. and is free to attend. Ja Vonne Jones (concert)
Chayz Lounge (607 Meeting St.) and popular Columbia jazz violinist Ja Vonne Jones invite you to enjoy “An Evening of Soulful Rhythms.” Expect powerful renditions of hits by Tony! Toni!
