Jack McKeon (concert)
Steel Hands Brewing (2350 Foreman St.) continues their “Nashville Nights” summer concert series with a special trio performance by rising country singer/songwriter Gabe Lee and his trio. Singer/songwriter Collin Nash opens the show after host Michael Haney kicks things off at 6 p.m. McKeon begins at 7 p.m. This show is presented by Jim Hudson Audi and is free to attend. Zoso: The Ultimate Led Zeppelin Experience
If it’s been a long time since you rocked and rolled, you might want to head over to the Icehouse Amphitheater (117 W. Main St.) for Zoso: The Ultimate Led Zeppelin Experience. The band recreates note-perfect concert versions of “Black Dog,” “Stairway To Heaven,” “No Quarter,” “The Song Remains The Same” and many more. Once Upon A Mattress (play)
The Harbison Theatre at Midlands Technical College (7300 College Blvd.) and the Chapin Theatre Company present “Once Upon A Mattress.” This musical comedy is “The Princess and the Pea.” It tells the story of Prince Dauntless and Princess Winnifred. Winnifred’s unconventional nature and disregard for the Queen’s rules lead to a hilarious series of events, including the famous “twenty mattresses” test. The McKoy Family Band (concert)
Bill’s Music Shop & Pickin’ Parlor (710 Meeting St. in West Columbia) welcomes The McKoy Family Band to their Saturday night concert stage. Guided Paddles
Saluda Shoals Park (5605 Bush River Rd.) hosts guided paddles down the lower Saluda River. This guided kayaking experience includes stops at one of two island destinations to ride the rapids, swim, observe local wildlife and learn about the Lake Murray Dam. This event is for families and paddlers of all experience levels. Children under 11 must ride in a tandem kayak with an adult. Participants should come prepared to get wet. Walk the beautiful trails on this guided hike to learn more about the role of Native Americans here and how the historic resources of the park are relevant to the lives and culture of Native peoples today, including the Cherokees and Catawbas.
