FRIDAY, JULY 4

Lexington County Peach Festival   
Gilbert Community Park (115 Rikard Cir.) hosts Lexington’s biggest Fourth of July event, the Lexington County Peach Festival. The sweetest summer gathering in town features fan-favorite attractions like the Peach Parade, an antique car show, local craft vendors, food trucks, a fireworks display and live music. And of course, there are plenty of delicious fresh peach treats. This event runs from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. and there is a $5 parking fee, but it is otherwise free to attend. Town Of Lexington Independence Day Celebration
The Icehouse Amphitheater (107 W. Main St.) hosts the Town of Lexington’s annual Independence Day Celebration. Enjoy a day of patriotic music courtesy of the 246th Army Band, pick up some beer, wine, nonalcoholic beverages and settle in for the fireworks display at around 9:20 p.m. This event is free to attend and begins at 7 p.m. Visit icehouseamphitheater.com for more information.

Fourth of July Laser Light Show
Moore Park (7507 Eastview Dr.) hosts an eye-popping Fourth of July laser light show in their Prisma Health Amphitheater. Enjoy an exciting laser light show, grab a complimentary hot dog (while supplies last) or cool down with a treat available for purchase from Kona Ice. Guests are encouraged to bring bag chairs, coolers and enjoy a night of dazzling lights and live music from Laser Chicken. This event runs from 7 to 10 p.m. and is free to attend. Charles Page & Company (concert)

Chayz Lounge (607 Meeting St.) and bandleader Charles Page invite you to enjoy “A Night of Jazzy Grooves.” Expect to hear hits and classics by Blackstreet, Santana, Chaka Khan, Frankie Beverly & Maze, Bruno Mars, Guy, Stevie Wonder and many more. Backyard Saturday

Purple Martin Tour

The Spirit of Lake Murray (docked at 216 Shadowood Dr.) takes you around the lake on a Purple Martin tour. Set sail on an unforgettable evening aboard the Spirit of Lake Murray and witness the gathering of thousands of Purple Martins at sunset. This exclusive boat tour offers a front-row seat to one of nature’s most mesmerizing spectacles. The tour runs from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m., and food and drinks are available. Tickets are $59. Colton Beasley (concert)

Kids Night

Savage Trivia Night

Across the county line

The Town of Newberry invites you to Harper St. on Friday, July 4, for their annual patriotic Harper Street Bike Parade. Decorate your bike, golf cart or wagon and show your patriotism, or line up as early as 9 a.m. at the corner of Harper and Hunt Streets. The parade begins at 9:30 a.m. and proceeds towards Calhoun Street. Refreshments will be available on the lawn at 1725 Harper St., and after the parade, the fire truck hooks up to the fire hydrant at the corner of Harper and Walnut Streets. Grab the kids and head over to Ft. Jackson (Hartsville Guard Rd.) on Friday, July 4, for their Independence Day Fireworks Celebration. The Columbia Fireflies invite you to Segra Park (1640 Freed Dr.) on Friday, July 4, for an evening of baseball and fireworks. Take in a game between the Fireflies and the Augusta Green Jackets and then enjoy an Independence Day fireworks celebration after the game is over. The Jamil Shrine Temple (206 Jamil Rd.) hosts a fun event for gamers and anime lovers on Saturday, July 5. The 3rd Annual Anime & Video Game Expo returns to Columbia with over 100 vendors and artists/crafters, special celebrity guest appearances, Q&A panels, a free-play arcade and much more for fans of all ages. On Sunday, July 6, the S.C. State Museum (301 Gervais St.) invites you to their First Sunday event. On the first Sunday of every month, admission to the museum is $1. For that price, guests can explore four floors of South Carolina art, cultural history, natural history and science/technology, including the Boeing Observatory and the Robert B. Arial Collection of Historical Astronomy located on the fourth floor. For an additional price, guests can enjoy a planetarium show and/or a 4D theater movie.
