FRIDAY, MAY 9

Art On State
Whether you’re an art collector or an aspiring artist, State Street in West Columbia has the event for you. The Seventh Annual Art On State festival brings together art, live music and local vendors in one place, for free. Enjoy live music from Seven Til Sunrise and the High Society Band, check out a live mural drawing or grab a bite from one of the food trucks on site. 90210 Radio (concert)
Moore Park (7507 Eastview Dr.) hosts the final edition of the Irmo Town Limits Spring concert series. Enjoy a stripped-down duo set from the popular variety group Hijacked before 90210 Radio takes the stage for a night of tubular ‘80s classics. Guitar Stories (concert)
Guitarist and bandleader Terence Young presents an evening dedicated to the six-string at Harbison Theater at Midlands Technical College (7300 College Blvd.). Young and his band, The Terence Young Experience, present “Guitar Stories,” a show that combines music and dance. The show is a celebration of music and movement, gliding from smooth melodies to electrifying rhythms. Showtime is 8 p.m. and tickets cost between $40 and $50. Mother’s Day Market
Moore Park (7507 Eastview Dr.) continues their busy weekend with a Mother’s Day Market. Willie Walker & Conversation Piece (concert)
Chayz Lounge (607 Meeting St.) and bandleader Willie Walker invite you to enjoy “A Night of Jazzy Grooves.” Walker and his band Conversation Piece play hits and classics by Tevin Campbell, Beyoncé, Chuck Brown, Stevie Wonder, Gregory Porter, The Crusaders, Roy Hargrove, Kem, Kirk Whalum and more. Lexington Wine Walk

Lego Club
The Swansea Branch Library (199 N. Lawrence Ave.) hosts their weekly Lego Club meeting. Prettier Than Matt (concert)

Hijacked (concert)
The Icehouse Amphitheater (107 W. Main St.) hosts another edition of the Icehouse Live! concert series, presented by the Lexington Medical Center. This week’s group is the popular variety band Hijacked, who play high-energy 80s rock, 70s funk and today’s dance hits starting at 6:30 p.m. This show is free to attend, and food, beer, wine, soft drinks and water are available for purchase. Across the county line

The SCEMSA Pro Rodeo hits the SC State Fairgrounds (1200 Rosewood Dr.) on Friday, May 9. Watch some brave cowpokes demonstrate their skills in bareback riding, bull riding, calf roping, steer wrestling, barrel racing and more. You may not have been able to see Taylor Swift on the Eras tour, but you can experience the next best thing at The Senate (1022 Senate St.) on Friday, May 9. Love Story-A Taylor Swift Tribute Band pulls out all the stops to recreate Swift’s biggest hits, from her early country smashes to her iconic pop megahits. The SC State Museum (301 Gervais St.) hosts their monthly Accessibility Morning on Saturday, May 10. Guests who are neurodiverse or have other disabilities are welcome to explore the museum exhibition galleries at their own pace. An American Sign Language (ASL) interpreter, sponsored by Colonial Life, is available during the morning. Accessibility Morning runs from 9 to 11 a.m., and museum admission is free during that time. Congaree National Park (100 National Park Rd.) invites you to their weekly Nature Discovery Walk on Saturday, May 10. The Enoree River Winery (1650 Dusty Rd.) hosts their weekly Unpack the Porch event on Sunday, May 11.
