Emo Nite Lite

“Hop on stage and sing your fav emo classics” as the Emo Night Columbia series celebrates the emotional strain of punk rock with another event, this time replacing bands with karaoke led by the DJ Party Jesus. Friday — Nov. 4

63rd Midlands Regatta

The Columbia Sailing Club hosts the 63rd Annual Midlands Regatta on Lake Murray. Friday is the kickoff to three days of racing. There’s a Friday evening happy hour and a Saturday evening party with a live band and food trucks on site. The Regatta begins at 6 p.m. tonight. Visit columbiasailingclub.org for more information. 

Fall Back Fest

Head over to the corner of State and Meeting Streets in West Columbia for the annual Fall Back Fest. There will be arts and crafts vendors, live music, food trucks, a Farmers Market and much more. The fest starts at 5:30pm and runs until 9:30 p.m. This event is presented in conjunction with the November State Street Art Crawl, and it’s free to attend. Lower Saluda Winefest

Come out to Saluda Shoals Park (5605 Bush River Rd. in Columbia) for the Lower Saluda Winefest. Taste 15 different wines and enjoy live music. Food trucks will be on site, and you can take home a commemorative tasting glass. This event is for ages 21 and up only. Admission is $30 per person in advance and $35 the day of the event. Saturday — Nov. 5

Pelion Peanut Party

The annual boiled peanut celebration in Pelion returns for another year. The event goes Nov. 4-5, with the annual parade rolling at 11 a.m. Saturday, and the fireworks show blasting off that night at 7:30 p.m. The two days will also include live entertainment, an art show, a car show, crafters, amusement rides, carnival food and, of course, lots of boiled peanuts. 10-Minute-Ish Play Festival

The Chapin Theatre Company’s festival of 10-minute plays is back for a second year. The event consists of eight short plays selected from blind submissions. George Dinsmore will MC the event, which repeats Nov. 4 and 5 at 7:30 p.m. Performances held at the Firehouse Theatre at the American Legion Post 193 (102 Lexington Ave. in Chapin). Tickets cost $25. Hazelwood Turns 3

Hazelwood Brewing Company (711 East Main St., Suite OS2) celebrates three years in the former boiler room of Lexington’s Old Mill with food trucks on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The centerpiece day of the celebration is Saturday, with two special barrel-aged releases getting tapped and the Phantom Chicken food truck around from 2 to 7 p.m. The brewery is open from noon to 10 p.m. Saturday. Christmas in the Carolinas

The State Farmers Market (3483 Charleston Hwy. in West Columbia) hosts the Christmas in the Carolinas event. This family-friendly day will feature fun activities for the kids, arts and crafts, food, drink, live music and more. Tony Howard (concert)

Tony Howard brings a different kind of tribute show to the Harbison Theatre at Midlands Technical College (7300 College St. in Irmo). Howard doesn’t just do songs by one artist. He puts together a tribute to The Temptations, Elvis, Tina Turner, Whitney Houston, and Bruno Mars, all in one show. JJ Sansaverino (concert)

Join Chayz Lounge (607 Meeting St. in West Columbia) and guitarist/bandleader JJ Sansaverino for “An Evening Of Jazzy Grooves.” Sansaverino has toured with Maxi Priest, Shaggy, and The Marley Family, and he’ll play plenty of reggae and soul hits and classics. Lexington County Veterans Day Parade

Joshua Kendrick (concert)

Songwriters Night

Bill’s Music Shop & Pickin’ Parlor (710 Meeting St. in West Columbia) hosts a Songwriters Night. Every second and fourth Tuesday evening from 7 to 9 p.m., musicians and songwriters gather at Bill’s to demonstrate original songs or cover songs they are working on. Admission is a $5 donation. Contractors for Hope Concert

Join Steel Hands Brewing (2350 Foreman St. in Cayce) for the third  annual Contractors for Hope Concert. The event will feature live music from Finnegan Bell and Slim Pickens, raffle items, food and beverages and it benefits Harvest Hope Food Bank. The event began during the pandemic as building contractors throughout the region wanted to come together and help those affected. Downtown Newberry hosts the First Friday Wine Walk on Nov. 4. Relentless Book Fair

The Relentless Book Fair comes to the Columbia Metropolitan Convention Center (1101 Lincoln St. in Columbia) on Nov. 5: “This friendly, family fun event allows the community to meet and learn about authors from a variety of genres. The fair brings together a unique mix of non-fiction and fiction authors for the community to enjoy. Authors will be placed according to the genre to make them easier to find and support.
