Irmo Trunk or Treat
Moore Park (7473 Church St.) hosts the Irmo Trunk or Treat on Halloween. Bring the kids for this safe, family-friendly event with candy, costumes and community spirit. Chat with neighbors, local businesses and organizations who have decorated their trunks and filled them with treats. This event runs from 6 to 8 p.m. and is free to attend. Deceased Farm Haunted Attraction
Celebrate Halloween night with one last trip to Deceased Farm (382 Olde Farm Rd.). Go on a self-guided “haunt” through six different scary buildings, three outdoor zones and the Creepy Cornfields, all full of terrifying creatures seeking to harvest YOU. This attraction is not recommended for children under 12. Admission costs between $25 and $70. Halloween Night with Martin’s Flight (concert)
If you’re looking for less terror and more tunes on Halloween night, Savage Craft Ale Works (430 Center St.)  hosts their own Halloween celebration. Enjoy drink specials, unique local and regional brews and music courtesy of Augusta, Georgia’s own Martin’s Flight. The acoustic duo plays new and classic soul, rock, funk and reggae from 6 to 9 p.m. on the Biergarten stage. This event is free to attend. Tracy Brathwaite (concert)
Chayz Lounge (607 Meeting St.) and vocalist Tracy Brathwaite invite you to enjoy “An Evening of Soul Jazz Classics.” Expect to hear hits and classics by Etta James, James Brown, Aretha Franklin, Chaka Khan, Jill Scott, Michael Jackson and more. Colonial Congaree Fort Tour
12,000 Year History Park (1120 Ft. Congaree Tr.) invites you to enjoy an afternoon of Midlands history on the Colonial Congaree Fort walking tour. Meet at the Cayce Tennis Center at 2 p.m. for this approximately 2-hour tour and walk to the 1718 Old Fort Congaree site. You’ll learn about the struggles of the colonial settlers and the South Carolina Native Americans and delve into the Deerskin Economy, then travel to Fort Congaree 2 and Fort Granby. The LHS Booster Club Annual Golf Tournament
The Country Club of Lexington (1066 Barr Rd.) and the Lexington High School Athletic Boosters invite you to the LHS Booster Club Annual Golf Tournament. Grab three of your best golfing buddies and enjoy a day on the links for a worthy cause: Raising money for the Lexington High School Wildcats. There’s also a catered lunch from Hudson’s BBQ, prizes for the top three teams, and competitions for the longest drive and closest to the pin. The S.C. State Museum (310 Gervais St.) invites you to their final day of Dark History tours on Friday, Oct. 31. Spend your Halloween on a creepy crawl through the museum, where you’ll learn the true story of Columbia’s catacombs, mysterious tunnels that hid everything from politicians to Confederate gold. Hear Gullah folktales that will give you chills and learn about the path General Sherman took during his march through Columbia. Richland Creek Farms (542 Richland Creek Rd.) goes back in time for the Richland Creek Antique Fall Festival on Friday, Oct. 31. The festival features all manner of farm equipment from yesteryear, including antique tractors (through 1960), steam engines, threshing machines and more, and there are firsthand demonstrations showing you how they worked. This 2-day event also features an Antique Tractor Pull, a Camper Trick-or-Treat Night, an Artillery Display an Old-Fashioned Worship Service at Richland Springs Baptist Church. Plus, the kids can hop on a wagon ride or take a tractor sled ride or take part in a costume contest. The festival kicks off at 7 p.m. on Friday, and admission is $5 for Friday and $10 for Saturday. Cottle Strawberry Farm (9560 Garners Ferry Rd.) hosts their annual Fall Fest on Saturday, Nov. 1. The Fest doubles as the season kickoff for the brand new Cottle FunPark, which includes a corn maze, wagon rides, climbing wall, family games, photo ops and more. There’s also live music from local acts, a Farm Market with fresh food and pumpkins galore. This event runs from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and admission costs between $14 and $16. The S.C. Korean Festival returns to Columbia on Saturday, Nov. 1. Head over to 1412 Richland St., celebrate Korean culture and enjoy great food like kimchi, kimbap, Korean corndogs and bulgogi while you take in dance and live music performances of Korean music, from centuries past to modern day. There’s even a K-pop dance contest. This event is sponsored by the Korean Community Presbyterian Church and is free to attend. The Newberry Opera House (1201 McKibben St.) hosts an evening with country star Deana Carter on Saturday, Nov. 1.
