Fallapalooza (concert)
The Icehouse Amphitheater (107 W. Main St.) celebrates the arrival of fall with a grunge heavy Fallapalooza event. Enjoy live music from Angry Chair: A Tribute to Alice In Chains, Glide: A Tribute to Stone Temple Pilots, and Adams Evans from the Chris Cornell tribute band Badmotorfinger. Deceased Farm
If you’re ready for Halloween thrills, then head to Clinton Sease Farm (382 Olde Farm Rd.) for the Deceased Farm haunted attraction. Take a self-guided spooky tour of 6 terrifying buildings, three outdoor zones and creepy corn fields. This event is for adults and for children over 12. Deceased Farm opens at 7:30 p.m. and the attraction runs until 11:30p. m. General admission tickets are $25, but there is a fast-past option available for $40 and VIP admission is $65. New River Bluegrass (concert)
If you’re in the mood for some good, old-fashioned bluegrass music, then head over to Bill’s Music Shop & Pickin’ Parlor (710 Meeting St. in West Columbia) for an evening with New River Bluegrass. Britt & Gould (concert)
Entertaining local duo Britt & Gould perform at Steel Hands Brewing (2350 Foreman St. in Cayce). Two Columbia singer/songwriters, Adam Gould and Dave Britt, team up for a rollicking show full of originals and covers. The pair play from 6 to 10 p.m., and this show is free to attend. Gaston Collard & BBQ Festival
If you like collards and barbecue, then the Gaston Collard & BBQ Festival is the festival for you. In addition to collard and barbeque plates that also include Southern specialties like black-eyed peas, macaroni and cheese, cornbread, pound cake, and tea or lemonade, there are free rides, games, antique cars, live entertainment, and a barbecue cook-off. There’s a parade to kick things off, and the festival begins at 131 North Carlisle St. (behind Gaston Town Hall) at 10 a.m. No alcohol allowed on the premises. Cayce Fall Fest
The City of Cayce holds its annual Fall Fest at Granby Park (1800 12th St.). This festival is family-friendly and includes live music from Mystic Vibrations, The Accused and Willie Wells & The Blue Ridge Mountain Grass, along with a DJ and dance floor, local cultural food vendors, beer and wine, a kid’s area, face painters, balloon artists, inflatables, and more. Tony Howard’s Motown Revue (concert)
The Harbison Theatre at Midlands Technical College (7300 College St. in Irmo) presents a performance by Tony Howard’s Motown Revue. Expect to hear enthusiastic versions of hits by Motown immortals like The Temptations, The Four Tops and Marvin Gaye, and Howard and his band even throw in nods to Ray Charles and Tina Turner. Lenny Cooper (concert)
The Skyline Club (100 Lee St. in West Columbia) presents a show from rising country-rap star Lenny Cooper and his band Kingery. A Metallica tribute band, King Nothing, opens the show. 2023 Pumpkin Patch
The FARM 1790 (1127 Corley Mill Rd.) hosts its annual Pumpkin Patch event. The $10 parking fee gives you access to all activities, but there may be additional fees for food, produce, pumpkins, beer, wine, and other vendor items. Steinfest
Hazelwood Brewing Company (711 E Main St.) and fellow local brewery Bierkeller are back to old Oktoberfest tricks, brewing a Steinbier — a lager fired by throwing white-hot stones into the mash — and hosting a Steinfest to celebrate it. The event promises a “slightly smokey, dark” German lager alongside Hazelwood’s other options, with German food prepared by stalwart local chef Joe Turkaly (2 p.m.-sell out) in addition to the Cheese & Thank You food truck (4-8 p.m.). Corn Maze
Bring the kids to Clinton Sease Farm (382 Ole Farm Rd.) for some corn maze fun. Your $15 admission price includes all mazes, unlimited hayrides, an obstacle course, all playground activities and a visit to the pumpkin patch. Arcy Drive (concert)

The Pumpkin Patch Farm Festival
Sylvan Farm – Ridge Spring (182 Ridge Spring Hwy.) hosts The Pumpkin Patch Farm Festival on Oct. 6. The festival, presented by Legacy Ranch & Sylvan Farm, features rides, games, food and drink and, most importantly, lots of pumpkins. Horse/wagon rides are $15 (includes pumpkin) and tractor/haywagon rides are $12 (includes pumpkin). Children under 2 years of age are free (does not include pumpkin). Lady Supreme (concert)
On Oct. 6, the Newberry Opera House (1201 McKibben St.) hosts a performance by “a spectacular tribute to the life and work of the supreme diva” Diana Ross called Lady Supreme. South Carolina State Fair
The South Carolina State Fair returns to the State Fairgrounds (1200 Rosewood Dr. in Columbia) on Oct. 11. Bring the family and enjoy tasty treats, rides, games, live music, and much more. Among the festivities on the first day will be the Lexington County Blowfish’s annual Peanut Eating Contest at 5:30 p.m. on the Academic Avenue Stage, with Chronicle sports editor Elijah Campbell joining the competition. There is a special $5 admission cost on Wednesday, and admission runs from noon until 9 p.m. The rides will be operational from 3 to 11 p.m. The fair continues through Oct. 22.
