Concert at Icehouse Amphitheater
On Thursday, April 9, from 6:30 to 9 p.m., Bourbon Sons will be performing at Lexington’s Icehouse Amphitheater, located at 107 West Main St. in downtown Lexington. The event is free to attend. “This high-octane Carolina quartet blends traditional and modern country with classic rock flair, delivering powerhouse harmonies and southern charm. From Chris Stapleton to AC/DC, Bourbon Sons bring an expansive repertoire that keeps the crowd on their feet all night long,” according to the venue’s website. The event is free to attend. “The Starlight Gala is a celebration of artists using their gifts to shine light into the world. 14th Annual Herb Festival at the Lexington County Museum, April 11
A free event on Saturday, April 11, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Lexington County Museum will feature herbs, vegetables, baked goods, educational presentations and local vendors, according to Capital City Lake Murray Country. This rain-or-shine event is made possible by the Lexington County Herb Bunch, and the proceeds from the event will go towards a local student who plans to further their studies in agriculture and horticulture. Strawberry picking at Clinton Sease Farm
On April 11, 25, May 9 and 23, you can pick strawberries at Clinton Sease Farm in Lexington (382 Olde Farm Rd.). These events are from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Admission closes at noon, the last wagon ride to pick strawberries is at 12:15 p.m. and the farm closes at 1 p.m. Attendees ages 3 and older are $15 a ticket, while those younger get in free. Tickets include more than just the wagon ride and berry picking. 12,000 Year History Park tour
On Saturday at 2 p.m., you can tour the 12,000 Year History Park on Congaree Creek in Cayce. “Native Americans played a strategic role in the economy and defensive welfare of the Carolina Colony. Learn more on a great tour with the 12,000 Year History Park,” according to a Facebook post on the event. Meet at the entrance to the park just beyond the Cayce Tennis Center. The park is located at 1120 Fort Congaree Trail in Cayce. There is free parking at the dirt lot to the left past the tennis center. Tours are nearly two miles long and will take about two hours. 12,000 Year History Park tour
On Sunday at 2 p.m., you can tour the 12,000 Year History Park on Congaree Creek in Cayce. “In the deep woods of colonial South Carolina, in what is now Cayce, European settlers met natives to trade at a little fort built in 1718. Walk to the site of Fort Congaree and hear its intriguing stories as we delve into the struggles of the Deerskin Economy. On Friday from 6 to 9 p.m. at Finlay Park, located at 896 Blanding St. in Columbia, is Finlay Friday. “The City of Columbia’s Finlay Park presents Finlay Fridays, a live outdoor concert series happening every Friday evening from February 20 through October 30, 2026,” according to the Capital City Lake Murray event listing. “Open to the public, the series brings live music, food, and drinks to the heart of downtown Columbia — the perfect way to kick off the weekend. On Saturday, April 11, at the South Carolina State Museum, located at 301 Gervais St. in Columbia, is a recurring event meant to provide locals with accessibility needs an opportunity to enjoy an event specially meant for them. “These mornings are for individuals, families, and groups who would enjoy a more disability-adapted museum experience. Along with a calmer, sensory-friendly setting, this program includes ASL interpretation and other accessibility resources,” according to the museum’s website. “Guests who are neurodiverse or have other disabilities are welcome to participate in the optional activities listed below, or explore museum exhibition galleries at their own pace.” Admission is free. Historic homes tour
Locals can get an inside look at four private, historic Lexington-area homes during a tour happening on Saturday, April 25, from 1 to 5 p.m. Tickets for the historic homes tour, organized by Friends of the Lexington County Museum, are on sale now. Tickets are $60 per person, or $100 per couple, and can be purchased through lexingtoncountymuseum.org. This event will take attendees inside the 1855 Henry A. Meetze House, the 1905 George Tillman Graham House, the 1895 C.E. Corley House and the 1890 Dantzler Harman House. The tour will conclude with a tea reception at the historic Palmetto Collegiate Institute, located at 104 Hendrix St. in Lexington.
