Students raise $3k for cancer research

Posted

In honor of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Spring Hill High School organized a “Pink Out” week to show support and raise funds for breast cancer research and mammography services.

Spring Hill’s DECA club sold t-shirts, bandanas, lemonade, cookies, candy and reached out to the community for donations during the week leading up to their Pink Out Oct. 18.

Students raised $3,000 for the Lexington Medical Center Foundation’s Campaign for Clarity through the Crystal Smith Breast Cancer Fund. The money will help provide life-saving 3-D mammography technology to all Lexington Medical Center patients.
