Pelion Elementary and Forts Pond Elementary students who participate in afterschool programs can receive a free dinner thanks to the Child and Adult Care Food Program. RURITAN SCHOLARSHIPS WERE awarded to Callie Brown, Sean Pennington, Yessenia Castellanos, and Thomas Corley.
Cameron Myra Blakely received the Lander University Dean’s Scholarship and the Roy and Ruth Nichols Scholarship.
Braxton Prater Brazell received scholarships as follows: Brady & Florence Dennis, Lee University Dean, Lee University Tuition, and Paige Erin Marie Widmer.
June 25 will be the Pelion Night with the Blowfish at Lexington County Baseball Stadium. The night honors 1SG Re tired Thomas Peel, 94, a 30-year veteran of World War II, Korea, and Vietnam, and a 2-time recipient of the Bronze Star.
