Okay, Timberwolves fans—this Friday marks the first home varsity football game of the season as Colleton County High comes to the Wolf Den at 7:30. The T-Wolves are looking for their first win after 0 loss to Brookland-Cayce. Come out and show your support. You’ll also get your first look and listen to the White Knoll Marching Timberwolves band for this year, too.

Speaking of White Knoll High, did you see all the buses and activity around the school last Wednesday morning? Lexington District One had an all-district convocation in the football stadium, with all 4,000 district employees invited to attend for what amounted to a pep rally for the staff and teachers, complete with bands, cheerleaders, and a talk on “The Power of One,” a theme for the district this school year.

With the start of the school year, remember there will be increased morning and afternoon traffic around the schools including school buses and some walking students; leave extra time to get to work and watch for stopped school buses.

If you’re just getting into the school ages with your children and are still looking for a preschool, check out next Thursday’s Open House at Red Bank UMC Preschool on South Lake Drive at Red Bank United Methodist Church. It offers a half-day program Monday through Thursday along with Mom’s Morning Out offerings. It has added afterschool programs this year. The open house will be held 5-7 p.m. for students and families. Interested parents should call 359-0329 for more information.

Happy birthday this week to John Mintz, Devon Ash, Greg Bolick, Stephen Whittle, Chris Smith, and Mike Kinzie.

Happy anniversary to Wayne and Betty Taylor.
