Looking for a great outdoor activity that’s close to Red Bank and not around any large groups

Take a hike at the nearby Peachtree Rock Preserve, just down SC 6 between Red Bank and Swansea. It’s free and open to the public during the day.

Several trail options take anywhere from 30 minutes to a couple of hours.

The rock that gave the preserve its name toppled years ago due to weathering and age. Yet there’s plenty to see including the Midlands only natural waterfall.

Having hiked the long trail a couple weeks ago, I can attest that it’s clear and green throughout the preserve right now.

THE CHILDREN’S ministry at Red Bank United Methodist Church is offering an online, “Virtual VBS 2020” July 20 -24. They ask that you register online at https://kideventpro.lifeway.com/myEvent/?id=55701. This gets you a bag that they’ll have ready for pickup at the church with a shirt, bandana, music CD and crafts for each day. The VBS team will be online daily with music and Bible lessons. The theme is “Wilderness Escape” and it follows Moses and the Israelites through the wilderness, “Where God Guides and Provides.”

LEXINGTON CHURCH of God is the latest to restart indoor worship services. They have an inside service at 9 am with outside option at 10:30 with “Preaching in the Parking Lot” live streamed online.

ST. JAMES Lutheran will offer a monthly food pantry Tuesday, July 21, 10 - 11 am. Please call 359-2122 for information about eligibility and instructions on pickup.
