The Lexington County Sheriff’s Foundation recently awarded Deputy Andrew Chaves based on his willingness to go above and beyond the call of duty at Saxe Gotha Elementary School. Chaves found a variety of creative ways to engage students as a “servant leader” according to the school’s principal. Among his many contributions to the school, Andrew assisted with the school’s flag detail, helped with the beautification of the school grounds, both on and off duty, and assisted in the delivery of backpack meals to students in need.
