Congrats to the White Knoll Timberwolves varsity football team for winning their home opener last Friday in a weather-delayed matchup that didn’t end until Saturday afternoon. The team beat Brookland-Cayce 27-13. It will travel to Colleton County for this week’s game. If you want some Timberwolf sports a little closer to home try the volleyball team. It plays Airport High tonight, with JV at 5 and girls varsity at 6:30. Go, Timberwolves!

With all of the reports of threats to schools and the specific incident addressed at White Knoll High School recently, I’d like to pass along some information from District One in response to how students or any persons can report a potential school threat. First, school administration or a teacher, counselor, or resource officer should be contacted. If they are uncomfortable doing so, the Tip Line for reporting concerns is 803-636-8317 for phone calls or texts, or email 1607@alert1.us.com.

Know any good organists and choir directors? St. James Lutheran is seeking a part-time Music Director for Sundays and other services. A job description is on the church website at stjameslex.com, or send resume and references to office@stjameslex.com. Call the church at 359-2122 for more information.

Happy birthday this week to Sherry Kyanko, Kelly Snelgrove, Robert Porter, Chris Smith, Greg Bolick, Stephen Whittle, Mike Kinzie, Amy Brewer, Autumn Brewer, Jeanette Altman, Nancy Azzara, Bill Barrier, Bob Barrier, Richard Luther, Barbi Barrier, Erline Kyzer, T. J. Crolley, and Jim Spence.

Only one anniversary to report this week, but it an important one that I had better not forget to mention—my own, 26th anniversary next Wednesday to Amy Oliver.
