Charlotte, NC—Timothy Lee Ivey, 68, of Lancaster County, SC, passed away Sunday, August 8, 2021 at Presbyterian Medical Center in Charlotte, NC.

Services for Mr. Ivey were August 12th at First Baptist Church of Rock Hill. Visitation was held at the church prior to the service.

Tim was born and raised in Sylacauga, AL and the son of James and Nail Ivey. He married his high school sweetheart, Deborah Brown Ivey, in 1973 and spent the rest of his life as a loving and devoted husband to her. Together, they raised two children, Jessica and Joshua. He earned his masters degree in wildlife biology from Auburn University in 1977 and spent his entire professional career working with the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources before retiring in 2015 as Chief of Wildlife. He served decades as a deacon at Mon-Aetna Church in Union, SC and Lexington Baptist Church in Lexington, SC where he raised his family as a faithful man of God. He then continued his servant leadership as a member of First Baptist Church of Rock Hill. Tim’s happiest moments in his later years were spent with his family including his two grandchildren, Kylee and Colt, for whom his love and joy knew no bounds. Tim is now reunited with his beloved son, Joshua, in heaven along with his savior, Jesus Christ.

Tim was preceded in death by his parents, James and Nail Ivey; his brother, Sam Ivey; and his son, Joshua Ivey.

In addition to his wife, Deborah Ivey, Tim is survived by his brother, Mike Ivey; his daughter, Jessica Ivey Schumacher; his son-in-law, Jeremy Schumacher; and his grandchildren, Kylee and Colt Schumacher.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made in Mr. Ivey’s name to the American Cancer Society at www.cancer.org
